The Board of Sport and Life Training Limited has accepted the resignation of Peter Burns, SALT CEO, effective 10 September 2021. Peter has taken a global role with a youth-serving not-for-profit.

The Board is grateful for Peter’s contribution to SALT during the extreme challenges COVID 19 brought to 2020 and 2021.

The Board is delighted to announce that Layne Stretton has been appointed as Interim CEO of SALT, effective immediately.

Layne is the Founder and Director of Yellow Box Careers and over the last decade, has made a significant contribution to the development and growth of suicide prevention NFP Roses in the Ocean. As Head of Facilitation, Layne has written and delivered workshops all over the country, assisting people with a lived experience of suicide to inform, influence and enhance suicide prevention across communities. Layne has a deep and enduring passion for the SALT cause, having been a presenter and his ongoing studies in social and organisational behaviour provide the foundation for the further development of SALT. Layne has previously held the role of Chair within the organisation.

Layne and Peter will work together over the transition period to ensure a smooth transition.

As a result of his appointment as Interim CEO, Layne has stepped aside from the Board of SALT, and Jocelyn Furlan will act as Interim Chair.

Jocelyn is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and serves as a non-executive director on the Boards of a number of financial services and for purpose organisations.
