JUNIOR WELLBEING MANAGERS COURSE
The purpose of this course is to equip every team within your club with a dedicated person who can focus on the well-being and mental health of the kids. Prior to completing this course, every junior team needs to appoint a Wellbeing Manager. Often this will be the Team Manager.
They will complete a 90-minute course that will enable them to be the eyes, ears, and heart of wellbeing and care for the children in their team. They will be taught how to recognize warning signs and how to deal with the anger and stress that young people might be experiencing as well as how the club can best support kids and families with the resources available. Wherever possible, the Wellbeing Manager will work in conjunction with parents and keep them informed. Coaches and parents can also attend this course if the club wants to invite them.
SALT has provided our club with the means to create an inclusive and safe environment for the players. Everyone is now more consciously aware of the need to look after each other.
